The second goanna spotted at the recent Brisbane Flickr Meetup at BFP. This one was on the circuit part of the track, up on the hill.

    well done
he was a celebrity for the day!
Glad he was chill enough to let you all get so many great shots of him!

he needs some moisturiser for that skin.

Thanks Alexandra, I heard him before I saw him, he was lurking in the tall grass next to the track, so I waited patiently and sure enough, up the tree he went.
This one is different to the one everyone got on the main track. This is the one at the top of the hill on the circuit part of the track.
hahaha There was enough moisture in the air that day as it was !

I wonder how they got their name ? Perhaps someone had a wife called Anna, and he could see a resemblance...
super photo, which is of course what we expect !

    nice close up
  • David de Groot said:
I believe it was something a lot more mundane than that - i.e. an Aboriginal name for them. However, our current state Premier is named Anna and the newspapers have already had headlines like Go-Anna!
Argh! people are expecting things of me... *runs and hides*
    Thanks :)

LOL !!! you can come out of hiding, please.... big please !!

    Amazing clarity and detail.
This one doesn't look so scary, Maybe because it looks smaller compared to the mean lizard before this.
  • David de Groot said:
Could be, he was definitely trying not to be seen (had scurried up the far side of the tree).
