St Stephen's Cathedral - portrait orientation

St Stephen's Cathedral taken from the Post Office Alley, off Elizabeth St, Brisbane.

Another handheld shot.

I'm not sure which of these is better. Neither are as good as they could have been had I

had a tripod with me, but both are passable for high iso hand-held shots.

I like both. I prefer the other one because the contrast to the skyscrapers is better, I think, but I like the light in this one a tad better. The other is a touch too bright?

Both were tweaked a little in photoshop (curves layer) and a bit of contrast via a soft light duplicate of the background at about 57% opacity.

Yeah the other one turned out brighter after uploading to flickr. I'm not particularly happy with either of them, the foreground light is too orange and overpowering, but I couldn't make the overall picture darker lest I lose details in the darker areas or colour in the sky.

I find it strange to see old churches surrounded by gigantic corporate structures. I find it very ironic.

    It's definitely like that Mark.
