Number 5 Gun

History Alive, Fort Lytton, Qld.

The second of the two 64lb Cannons at Fort Lytton. I managed to get this one on both occasions it fired on Sunday. This is the morning firing.

Wow! I'd love to take the kids to see this. Do they fire the guns very often?

    hehehe quite ;-)
Slightly too hot in the blast in places, I think last year's effort was better, but it was still a reasonable way to start the morning.
    Hey Sarah! Thanks :)
I seem to do much better with this cannon compared with the first one they fire (#6).
Well for the public, just this one weekend per year (fired four times over 2 days). However, I believe they come out and fire them a few more times a year to keep it all working and the crew trained.
