Now you are just being greedy, i have to make do with one and some old Nikons. Let me know how you use them and how well it works.

Cheaper in bulk hey? Great flash, looking forward to getting a 2nd myself.
  • maasha said:
But you can only fit one on the camera?
  • ronnietan15 said:
i got a feeling neither will be attached to the camera :P

That's the plan Tim, although I'll retain my SB-26, it's just too useful :)
:P Now would be a good time to mention the photo was taken with my new iPhone 32Gb eh ?
Thanks Rob, yeah I figured while I had the money, I'd best get what I need, and given my contract isn't being renewed, I reckon I may be making more use of this sort of thing quite shortly.
    I wish! Damn expensive beasties.
Yes, and the other goes on a light stand... over there ---->

Happy with the phone David ?
I was going to go to the city last night - had a ticket for 12-00midnight but couldn't get anyone to come with me & I didnt fancy roaming the streets on my own :-)
Oh & congrats on the new toys - I need to get my first flash yet ;-)

Cool bro, looking forward to some shots now..... Hmmm, I need to catch up and get onto this strobe thing... ;)
I'm happy to be a test model... hahah ;)
  • Mitch Lahey said:
Flash haha, those two would be great wirelessly triggered left and right of the subject in my macro shots.
  • David de Groot said:
    That's true :)
hehehe Did you see Allan's collection last weekend ?
    Sure are!
VERY happy with the Phone Kath, well worth it. It's like a little computer that fits in your pocket.
BTW, I have a Nikon SB-600 flash for sale at the moment.
Might just have to do that - keen to work out this eTTL thing and maybe some high speed sync flash, etc.

You know you can get arrested for flashing, don't you? ;-)
  • David de Groot said:
Only if you get caught ;-)
  • frednaut said:
What do you use to trigger Dave?
I'm interested in the new PW's to play with some higher sync speeds and eTTL trickery....the Skyport's have been rock solid (unlike my Cactus seemed to have much more success with those when last I saw you) - but the Skyport doesn't do any of the whizzbang stuff the new PW's (or perhaps RadioPoppers) do.
  • David de Groot said:
I've ordered some Alien Bee CyberSyncs (which won't do the wizz-bang of the new PWs either, but should be rock solid). For the fancy eTTL stuff, I'll just whack one 580 on camera and one off using the Canon IR system. Kicking myself now for not picking up an STE2 at the Brisbane Camera Faire ($100!!!!).
  • teejaybee said:
$100 for a STE2? DAMN! If you ever know of them for that price you'll have to let me know if at all possible...
The 580EXII is an awesome piece of kit - you've seen the places I take it and it has NEVER, EVER missed a beat. The 430exii I bought as a secondary strobe just doesn't feel the same... I should have just saved the extra $ for another 580.
I did, however, have some strange problems with cactus triggers and my cannon flashes... strange sync problems at times. PW's are a pipe dream at the moment...
  • David de Groot said:
Yeah and they had TWO of them at that price! Dammit. But at the time I didn't have any eTTL flashes.
I haven't tried these with the cactus trigger yet - waiting for my Cybersyncs to arrive.
  • s.westhead (Simon) said:
TWO!!! Now your just rubbing it in.
  • David de Groot said:
;-) Well one isn't very useful on it's own :P
  • s.westhead (Simon) said:
    One? What about the others?
  • David de Groot said:
    The others aren't eTTL ;-)
  • bachamp said:
Enjoy the flashes. So, what's next, pocket wizards?
  • David de Groot said:
CyberSyncs - they arrived last week :)
