I was out scouting a location for a family portrait shoot this morning and needed to get an idea of how it might look, so I locked down the camera and took a series of shots which I later masked in photoshop.

Might need to take along a better model next time.

LOL!! you can have too much of a good thing perhaps !!
I really laughed at this, especially the one with your glasses raised, dont know why !
    Anyway, its fun !
edit - just remembered a saying my Grandma used to say....
"there goes a fine figure of a man "
not sure exactly in which situations or context she used it, but I'll apply it here anyway !!!!

I'm sure it looked even funnier as I was shooting it, 10 sec timer, scramble across loose rocks to plonk myself where I thought I should be. Stubbed my toes a couple of times (wearing thongs (i.e. flip flops/jandals not the women's underwear thing).
Well the fine figure went out in about 1997.

LOL !!!! figure wot figure, mine is heading south, effect of gravity you know, and of course I had 2 children, thats my excuse and I am sticking to it !!!!
  • David de Groot said:
I blame mine on a slow down of my metabolism, coupled with a stint of about 3 months of eating out back in '97 as the place I was renting had a kitchen I'd not cook dog food in, let alone dinner for me.

Well there you go, we both have our excuses, doesnt make me feel much better though, I still go in and out in all the right places, only there's less of the in, and more of the out !!!!

Not to fear, the way the economy is going, we'll all slim up a fair bit in the not too distant future :P

Awesome David. Great location (& poses).
  • David de Groot said:
Not sure on the poses actually, but then it was just a test, and there's only so much you can do in 10 secs after running across rocks in thongs. ;-)

funny this is the same shot i have in mind for tomorrow at the wello jetty.

Thank you for clarifying your use of 'thong' ; )
  • looby88 said:
yes but use your imagination - just a little and thongs could be a lot funnier !!
  • David de Groot said:
Well the key is to take a shot with no-one in it, then don't move the camera at all for subsequent shots. :)

Love it Dave, these are so fun to shoot and not too much work in PS to blend together.

They've all got disturbingly similar dress sense (or lack thereof). ;-)
(Now you didn't do that with Lightroom methinks.)

@Matt - yeah not too hard at all :)
@Mike - no, this was down in photoshop, as LR doesn't support layers (yet).
