Morrison's Falls

Up the back of my Great-Uncle's property is this wonderous waterfall, quite likely the most impressive in the area.

Holy wow Dave. Awesome awesome looking waterfall.

Pretty nifty eh ? I stood and just watched it for a little while before shooting, quite awe inspiring given I had no idea what to expect.

Wow! does it run this well all the time Dave? Is this little beauty actually on his property? Sounds like you haven't seen it before.
    Beautiful photo by the way:)
  • David de Groot said:
Nah, it doesn't run this well usually (I'm told). You're right, I hadn't seen it before, hadn't really been exploring up there before either.
Unfortunately, the land is now subdivided, so eventually this beautiful waterfall will exist on someone else's private property, but I'm glad to have seen it in full flow while I could.
Having said that, if anyone is after around 5 acres in a beautiful part of the world, close to Brisbane, and including this gorgeous waterfall, I can put you in touch with the seller.

Do you have a link to the sale on or is it a private sale?

    Thanks :)
Couldn't find the exact lot, but found a lot on the development, flickrmail'd to you.

    Waterfalls are definitely pretty. :)
'twas a magical little spot really.
That's the go with small waterfalls, down low and in amongst it.
    Pretty cool eh ?
    Thanks :)
The greater Brisbane area is full of little secrets, and as we can see here, I dare say a fair number of them are on private land.

Nice! The top is very uniform which is interesting. This is indeed one of the better waterfalls I've seen around Brisbane!
  • David de Groot said:
    'tis isn't it ? :)
Very oddly uniform, but it is stone, I checked. Some of the rock at the base is uniformly shaped too, quite interesting really.

Looks great. I'm always keen to hear about waterfalls in the area. Shame it's not readily accessible to everyone.

great work dave - the ND filters look like they're treating you particularly well these days - getting my fader ones soon!
  • David de Groot said:
Yeah I'm always on the lookout for new waterfalls too.
No ND's on this one Dylan, just a polariser and f/22 (which I'd usually not do, but in this case it worked out ok).
