Nice find, looks like it was trying to keep it's face out of the sun.

Yeah, little bugger wouldn't come out into the light. This shot was brightened a bit in post, and in the larger sizes it's possible to see his eye.

Nice find, Interesting location I should check that out I get on the gateway each morning @ Dohles Rocks Rd.
    Pretty little guy

Definitely a spot worth checking out at either early morning or late afternoon. Didn't seem to be much happening in the middle of the day.

    Thanks for sharing David

Thanks Kat :) I'm often not sure everyone enjoys the birds as much as I do taking them, but I keep posting anyway ;-)

    A couple of weeks :)
This one is heavily cropped (almost down to 100%), so I'm still on the lookout for more (in better light).

I love kingfishers, they're so pretty, but alas, also quite shy and flighty. There's an Azure Kingfisher that hangs around the creek near home, but I've yet to get within 50m of him with a camera.
    Thanks Michelle :)

^ I'm just like you. Kingfishers are just awesome to get a spot and if you're going well a shot of. Love this.
