Nicely high-key, David. The eyes are very sharp and her cheeks (well, at least her right/my left cheek) are really well light, smooth with the light but not so bright that they're completely blow out. I need to get me a brolly box before next shoot, or at least steal borrow someone's.

Thanks Albert - I had trouble getting a picture of Maggie that I was happy with, but I don't mind this one. It also works in colour, but is less high-key.

I'm loving my 100mm f/2.8 macro for it's incredible sharpness (actually, it's too sharp sometimes, I applied a little skin smoothing in photoshop because of that).
Yeah I think a nice big softbox is on the cards for me sometime or other, and a second light stand, and some more flashes... and .... well you get the picture ;-)

very nice photo...I like black and white photos...people don't do enough of them :)

Thanks Corne, yours were quite impressive too.

Thanks Nic :) The colour one was quite reasonable but the high-key b&w just seemed to be "it", so that's what I went with.

That's true, I should do more b&w, actually I have two rolls of b&w film sitting here waiting to be developed....I should do something with those too.

That's pretty contrasty - I like it. Nice & clear too. Good one.
  • David de Groot said:
Thanks - yeah I went with the high contrast b&w since the colour version just didn't do it.
