Juvenile White-bellied Sea Eagle

Haliaeetus leucogaster.

Spotted on Gold Scrub Lane, North Pine Dam. The local Whistling Kites did like it hanging around and tried to chase it off.

Nice one, Love the detail spot metering working very nice.
I think I may have spotted one of these guys when i was last at GSL, Over the other side out of range I was watching a large bird like this scaring off the water birds and taking some food from where they where.

Yeah happy with this one. :)
They're definitely large. The kites are fairly small in comparison.

Nice capture, and terrific detail. I nearly ended up joining you, but wouldn't have felt right skipping work. Got to hate those priorities.

Damn work ;-) Apparently Greg was thinking of coming along too, but instead shot bugs in his local park.

Great capture Dave, these birds have such an "air" about them

They do indeed. I'm miffed I somehow screwed the focus on the three shots I took of a whistling kite having a go at this one. Oh well, maybe next time.

That is a shame David, but like you say , next time ...
