Gnarled Summer

While heading across the Mrs Macquarie's Point from the Opera House, I glanced right and was greeted by this scene of sun rays, and gnarly trees.

I was struck by the etherial nature of it and just had to try to capture it.

Very much so Steve. Gnarled tree, a kind of grotto and fairytale light, what more could you ask for ? ;-)
Thanks Jen :) Interestingly, two steps left or right and the effect was lost, 'twas very much a case of being in the right place at the right time.

What a great picture! The sun rays across the tree trunk are phantastic. Also the lighting on the leaves on the tree in the background...

Yes, a bit on the tricky side.
    Pretty speccy eh? :)

Yes, more like Fairy-land rather than Sydney central :-)

I saw the 'ethereal' nature instantly from the thumb Dave! Nice work.

Likewise... (what Matthew said)! Draws you in from the tiny thumbnail.

Some would say that during Mardi-Gras, Sydney central IS fairy-land ;-)
(no offence meant to anyone attending that event, but the pun had to be made)
Nifty eh Matt - might end up being used for a composite background yet if I can devise the right people to insert in there.
    Thanks Geoff :)

I love those situations, they are so hard to capture on camera though. You did well.
