Forest or Sacred Kingfisher?

I popped out to pick Aleks up from the bus stop and this little guy was on our clothes line. I managed to rattle off 6 (near identical) shots before he flew off.

Very nice David....the spider on the line looks terrified :-)

[] I suspect I may have interrupted an afternoon snack. So the spider got a reprieve this time around.

We only see kingfishers along river banks, and we just have one version !
Great to see this in ones garden :)

[] I've seen three varieties in our area. The Forest Kingfisher (similar to this, but the orangey bits are white), the Sacred Kingfisher (this one) and the Azure Kingfisher (very blue with a very orange belly) down by the creek.

[] Aye, they're pretty little fellows. This one has now matured and wandered off in to the forest somewhere.
