Flight of the Eclipse

Shot from Cronulla, Sydney.

The approach for Sydney airport happened to be right across the rising moon's path last night and thus I was able to capture a plane silhouette as it crossed the moon in partial eclipse.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/tgerus] Straight from the camera, just cropped. I had none of my processing software with me on this trip, so it was a raw conversion using Canon's DPP and a crop to square format.

Awesom photo - it takes luck and patience to get something like that. I was taking photos of the "supermoon", when I saw the lights of a plane approaching. I took some shots in succession as the airplane crossed the face of the moon, and when I looked at them on the PC, I noticed a silhouette of a second plane in the frame.
