Female Red-backed Fairy-wren

Malurus melanocephalus.

Somewhat cropped as they wouldn't come near me. As it was it took about 15 minutes of sitting on the grass before this one showed itself.

They're timid little birds aren't they.
You've done really well to capture this.

Nice shot, I cant help but wonder what the world must be like for them being so small.

They are indeed timid little things, but I'll get a nice frame filling photo of one eventually.
Thanks Kat :) Patience is the key.
Yeah, it's the quintessential wren pose, isn't it ? Heavily cropped, but I couldn't resist that pose ;-)
Surprisingly no. I thought I would too, but it must have been one of the few spots that dried out.
They'd definitely have a different perspective.

Not bad for a fairly drastic crop eh ? :)
You've been hiding of late... too busy eh ?

Yeah my camera has been gathering dust - haven't used it the last 3 months!! Dreadful, I know. Might need to do something about it this weekend :D
