Emerald Pond

Buderim Forest Park, Buderim, Qld.

A little way down from the main falls is this lovely little cascading fall into a small pond which on this day had a green hue.

    Amazing image!

Thanks :) Mild vignette applied to the edges. :)
'tis a pretty spot, and apparently there's more to it than we saw that day too. Worth another visit at some stage (after the next rains methinks).
    Thanks, classical rainforest location ;-)
Weeeel, I named it, just then.
Thanks, worked well for this one.
    Glad you liked it.
Might be your monitor Rodney. The falls are right on the edge of being blown out, the only really dark bits are the edges, for that closed-in rainforest feel.
Not yet Rob. Got a way to go yet.

This is gorgeous David. I agree with Adam, its has quite a 'mystical' feel about it. I really must get up to Buderim one of these days

Thanks Beau, might have a puddle and post a crop later sometime (although obviously it's already cropped to 16:9 at the moment.

Fantastic image, David! Absolutely love the tonal depth of the image...the colors really pop with the different shades of green offset with the white of the waterfall.
It works very well with the sense of serenity in the scene, along with the motion from the water. Great job!

Thanks :) It's quite amazing how pictures of waterfalls always look serene, but in actuality, when you're there, they're very loud ;-)

Ahh, such a beautiful pond! I love how there's so much green in this combined with hte silky smooth water. The vignetting keeps the eye in, but it's also a bit noticeable (my only nitpick). Well done
