Buderim Falls

Buderim Forest Park,

We went for an early morning drive to Buderim to see the falls today.

I think I need to go even earlier though, as the sun was high enough to be an issue.

See approx. where this picture was taken.

I concur with James. Really beautiful.

Very nicely done. This sort of shot is difficult to achieve in bright conditions.

    Thanks Guys :)

Luckily there was some cloud cover, and the falls are in a bit of a valley, so there's only a couple of hot spots where the sun poked through.

early morning eh ? ........!!!! you are going to catch that early light bug....
  • David de Groot said:
    Well not *that* early Helen.

I got up at 6ish, and we managed to all get out of the house by 7:30. It took an hour and a quarter to get to the park and another 10 mins or so to walk to the falls. By the time I got this shot it was just after 9am and thus not really "morning light" anymore.

I checked the exif, I was still suitabaly impressed, and you did get up early, whats more the troops were organised and out of the house earlyish as well. A major logistical event !!
  • David de Groot said:
Well yes I suppose logistically it wasn't bad at all :)

You really need to get organised the night before :-) so you can jump straight into the car - a packed breakfast on location is good - you can't beat a flask of coffee whilst taking in the view!

(am I taking it all too seriously now?)
  • David de Groot said:
Ah see well we haven't reached that level of organisation yet, for if we had, we'd have had a picnic lunch with us too. D'oh! But yes, getting up and going is a lot quicker than mucking about before leaving.

Beautiful photo. Makes me want to sit there and look at it all day.

I've love to take shots like that but Kalgoorlie is a bit dry. :-)

Have to do some travelling, I think.
  • David de Groot said:
Ah but you have all the beauty of the outback at your fingertips :) I bet you could get some awesome dawn or dusk shots full of rich reds and silhouetted trees.

I had an amazing idea for this location last night while trying to drop off to sleep. I'm going to have to nut it out a bit but don't be surprised if you see this again :)
