Wussed out

This photo taken by Lea - I was driving.

We went geocaching today and one of the caches was on a 4wd track. We had a fair bit of fun negotiating the track in the wet, found the cache fairly easily and decided to continue along the track which reputadely joined another road. After a while we found this hill.

The photo doesn't do it justice, but it's a deeply rutted hill of about 30 to 40 degree incline, and it was raining.

I'm still running the AT Savero's on the truck, not decent MTRs (or even STs), we didn't have a winch or other recovery gear, no radio (well we had 0.5W handhelds, but that's not useful unless someone is closeby) and no convoy so decided to turn around in a paddock (off shot to the left) and head back. Might have to try this one again when it's dry and we have more gear.

See where this picture was taken.

Shame on you for going out unprepared. ;)

Well that's because a certain person wouldn't let me buy said gear when I bought the car and had money leftover for it....

A snorkel was mentioned, something else I can't remember was mentioned, but no mention was made of recovery gear!
I still say - if you need recovery gear then you should be in convoy!

Oh I believe there was some mention of it on the list... Besides, one should be self-sufficient, as you can't always rely on help being at hand.
