This wooden parrot hangs from the outdoor area at my friend's place at Manly West. I liked the afternoon light and the blurred tree in the background (a paperbark for those interested).

This is really great David.
Nice parrot, hey love the DOF. The parrot reminds me of those twirly ones years ago that just spun around when you held the protruding handles on either side. That didn't make any sense whatsoever did it! LOL....well anyway........I know what I mean :-D
Thanks Heidi :)
You're right Tracey, that doesn't make any sense at all ;-)
:-(
Can't draw a diagram in here either.....I'll have to find one now and take a photo of it lol ;-)
See it's a good thing - a reason to take another photo :)
Beautiful plumage!
I think you'll find it's nailed to the perch ;-)
hehe :-)
I think it is a sign of MP damage that the merest glimpse of a parrot-shaped avian can cause spontaneous babbling about beautiful plumage, Norwegian Blues, tired out after a long squawk, and so on ;-)
Good use of DOF David.
Hey, this is a fake bird! (o^^o)
A sign of a well rounded education methinks David ;-)
Thanks Melissa, specifically chosen :)
You're on the ball today Margot! 8-D
Nice light. Hope you enjoyed your trip out to these parts.
Is no one going to make a Monty Python reference? ;)
I really should explore out there a bit more Misteriddles, but when out that way I'm usually visiting friends rather than exploring.
Ummm, honey, did you miss the two references further up ?
::blushes::
I guess it was too subtle for me... :(
hee hee !! my kids had similar things when they were much smaller, I think this is a better idea than the parrot we have, no noise, no mess, no trouble
Ah but no personality either :P
granted, but no bitey beak either !! just little nips if we ignore ours when he is out !! he trims my hubbys eyebrows for him- what a time he would have on your face !!!
Ah yes there is that. I think I'll keep my eyebrows as they are :P
Very cool. Love the depth of field. How big is it? Hard to get a sense of scale from this.
Just a titch smaller than a Lorikeet actually.
Well, if you're ever out here and you wanna go on an expedition I'll be happy to come along.
Sounds like a damn fine idea :)
