Water Lily - Lotus Flower

These things are huge! I found them in a pond in the Botanic Gardens on a lunchtime walk. The leaves are bigger than restaurant dinner plates and the flower is larger than a mango.

    Thankyou catya_maria and yaxchibonam :)

Thanks Kev :) I know you're not much of a flower person per sé.

Pretty neat eh Greg ? This particular pond is one of the small twin ponds not far from the mangroves. The other pond has the brolga sculpture in it. With all your gear, you might need the rest of the sherpas umm, children ;-)

I really like this flower but never seen one in person yet, David. I wish to change that this year.

Thanks for the ID Barbara :) I'm hopeless when it comes to flowers.

You too eh Margot ? Maria admitted to the same. Coming down under to see these ones in person eh ?

Hehehe...I don't think I'll go that far, David, but I hope I can find a water lily in one of the botanic gardens near our place when it gets warmer. :o)
