Like a giant Pacman eating the island, or one of the space monsters from Calvin & Hobbes comics, these large lumps of volcanic rock litter the beach at Cape Hillsborough.
All are eroded in interesting ways by the constant pounding of the ocean at high tide, and most are sharp.

beautiful place!!
I like the lonely pine tree on the island. Good description, it does look like a giant pacman. Viewed at large size it's interesting to see how the erosion has formed a honeycomb type effect on the rock. When you took the shot the sea seems so calm, quite a contrast to what it has done to the rock.

Pretty much all the rock on the beach is volcanic and high in iron. The rocks themselves are "rusty" and yes it's very interesting to see how the sea has eroded them.
Here's a close view of one:
we used to have pacman game on the computer, it was simple fun , and this is very like one , a 3D version !!
