I spied this unknown bird in the Mangroves by the Botanic Gardens today. It seemed to fly in with a Striated Heron (who flew off to another tree before I took this shot).
The image quality isn't fantastic as it was darkish due to an incoming storm.

It sort of looks like a baby bird though, don't you thinik?
I agree it does look like a young bird. Nice shot David.

Seen in my contacts's photos. (?)
Thanks Gayle and Jill, not sure on the juvenile front, it was only slightly smaller than the striated heron it flew in with. I thought it looked a bit like a starling but it was too big for that.
It looks a bit gangly though, and awkward, just like the young.
It's possible... I shot it just after it had landed and just after the heron had took off to another tree. The movement was what caught my eye.
I agree...it looks like a baby bird.
Ah, you have so many interesting birds in your neck of the woods. All I see here are noisy crows, but lately, I don't see any.
Maybe everything has flown South for the winter Margot ?
You're probably right, David. I wish that big spider in my garden would move to South, too. (^.^)
