TWtME - Leave it to Me - #5

Based on a photo not taken by me, but taken by lifemage.

The background however was taken by me - it's the Story Bridge shot from earlier in my stream.

Thread of other entries here: Leave it to Me - #5 2007

The nitty gritty of what I did:

Adjusted the eyes and mouth to change the mood slightly.

Added "lipstick".

Changed eye colour ever so slightly.

Cloned out a couple of blemishes.

Slight blurring of the cheeks and forehead to soften them a little.

Cut out person.

Added new background.

Lens blurred background.

Touched up hair with an eraser to better blend with the new background.

Blurred the edges a little for the same reason.

Adjusted the exposure on the face down one 1/3 stop to try to simulate a bounced flash.

Very nice work David. The hair on the right seems a little unnaturally lit, but the composition works very well.

Hmmm, yes you're right Rachel... Might have to have a bit more of a puddle. Mind you, I'm no photoshop expert or anything.

Thanks Maria :) Just a bit of puddling around really.

Wow David - very impressive. I could not tell at first glance that the background had been replaced. Added lipstick too hey, what will Lea say to that ;-)

I believe her exact words were 'hey, you made it different - what did you change?'

hehe - the other way round would be very dangerous, sort of like
... hey honey, you look great today ...
when she just got back from the hairdressers and you don't notice it!!!

Thanks Jill - yes I had a lot of fun doing this one. It's not exactly right. As Rachel pointed out, I've got some highlights on the right side that shouldn't be there, and I didn't manage to smooth out and clean the complexion as much as I'd like (mostly because I have no idea how). But it was fun all the same.

David, I know what you said in your last post probably makes sense, but I'm too tired right now to make head or tail of it.

Dave - don't worry, it could just be me talking a load of old rubbish as usual.

    Well, done, David, well done!

Isn't it amazing how just small alterations in eyes and mouth gives such a completely different expression? She doesn't looks as dreamy here - more concentrated. I think she's doing something to her camera before she shoots a self portrait in front of the bridge!
Good job - both on the picture, and for making my mind going ;-))

It's interesting isn't it Asta ? I wanted to change it to a smile, but I'm just not that good.
