Thanks yOrrick, I've also post processed this shot and posted it as well.

it looks so grotty.... in the B&W it almost looks shiney!

It was grotty Alison ;) Although I like the mood of the b&w one better.

I must agree with Alison. The grottiness is hidden somewhat by the B&W :-)

Probably because I dropped the red channel a bit in the channel mixer when doing the b&w conversion. Rust is somewhat red coloured after all. The dark vignetting would accentuate that somewhat too.

Very good. I think I like this one better in color.

Very interesting shot !

Thanks Mark, I'm still not sure about the colour one, I was happy with it when I took it, but now I prefer the b&w.
Thanks Horst :)

Another vote for the colour version :-D
The rust is the real star here, but I also like the B&W - just for different reasons.

actually i really like the colour version too.
rust never sleeps.

Well yes, the rust was the reason for taking the shot, but it comes out busy. Maybe a closer crop might have improved things... dunno.

yu could try desaturating the other colour channels, leaving the red, so that the rusty trolley is against a b&w background. also fade the background right away with some blur and dodging.
here's me, born again (burn again) film purist telling yu how to photoshop ^^

Yes I probably could. Might give it a shot tonight :)
