I spotted these guys in our palm trees today and grabbed the old S2IS as it's the longest zoom I have at the moment to get a better look.
I'm not sure what these pigeons are as they're not in the Wildlife of Greater Brisbane book. Anyone have any ideas ?
Update - ID'd as Topknot Pigeons.

Hi David
I consulted my Field Guide to Aussie birds and learnt something. The birds are Topknot pigeons. Size 40-46cm Voice: Occasional sharp screech.
The ones that are commonly called Topknot pigeons are actually Crested pigeons. The ones that are pinky grey in colour with an upright black crest.
topknot pigeon ?
I had no real idea, but had a look on google, put up this suggestion to find I had been beaten to it !!
they sure have a stylish hair-do
Neat capture David.
S2 is still a good back-up camera.
