Tonight's Supermoon

The moon was at perigee this evening (closest point of orbit this year) so I set out to shoot it rising and was almost foiled by clouds. However, got this spot of luck in a break in the clouds.

I've had that rotten, smarmy "fly me to the moon " song on the brain since seeing this photo, grrrrr,
I hold you fully responsible and I hope that I have now inflicted you with the same !!
    ;P

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/33085391@N00] hahahaha Helen, I have a couple of versions of that song in my music collection, including one by Julie London.
  • looby88 said:
Poop, then you like it, I'm thinking of one by a man and I can hear him in my head.....
I know, I know, theres a name for that condition....
perhaps its Perry Como or some-one - the singer not the "condition " !!
  • David de Groot said:
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/33085391@N00] although that would be pretty funny. "What's wrong with you?" "Oh I've got Perry Como" ;-)
  • looby88 said:
Lol, I have just been on You Tube listening to various versions- PAH !
It was either Tony Bennett or Perry Como, to be fair Julie Londons version sounds okay.
I'm guessing its years growing up of listening to my Dads choice of music, though he had a huge range of taste, from classical, opera, jazz, boogie woogie ( I like a bit of boogie woogie, reminds me of my Dad playing the piano )
He also had some dire stuff ( in my then young ears ! )
Of course none of this explains you having Perry Como in your collection..... not convinced that is treatable !
  • David de Groot said:
Well I also have a massively eclectic collection. Jazz through to bluegrass, metal through to classical. Pretty much everything except rap, hip hop, dub step or modern dance.
  • looby88 said:
Its good to have such a range, I do like some bluegrass and country, cannot stand rap, dont even know what dubstep is and certainly dont like the sort of trance/dance music that a lot of youngsters go to night clubs for.
I reckon you must have to" be on " something to enjoy it !!
Well there you go then... see what your photo of a moon and plane has done, I have re-visited my past !
I'm going to make a coffee and go and lie down with some Pink Floyd or something, blot out Mr Como :))

Wonderful photo, the colour of the moon at this point of the night was beautiful. The plane just adds that dimension of size to it.
