The Road Burner

This huge rusting machine was one of only two "road burners" ever made. It now lies at Jondaryan Woolshed.

    Basically a big furnace on wheels that baked hard the ground underneath. It only worked on certain types of soil and was incredibly slow, however it was cheaper than the very new bitumen at the time.
