Tenterfield Standing Stone

Kane spied this small outcrop of rocks on today's Autumn Safari to the New England Tablelands.

I turned around and came back to investigate and took this shot showing the late afternoon sun lighting up the rocky outcrop against a brooding sky.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/smreid] 'twas a great field, that's for sure. The clouds played along nicely too.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/kelsa] All helped along by the fact we were constrained by how close we could get, so telephoto lenses were the go, providing some nice compression in the scene.

Very nice indeed. Love that little splash of colour on top.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/darvidanoar] The orange lichen was a definite bonus. Found some on some more rocks closer to sunset too.
