As the sun set over Brisbane, I attempted to take some "arty" photos of the grass on top of Kangaroo Point Cliffs. Of the three shots that came out ok, this one is the one I like the best.
Taken during the 30th Sept Brisbanites Flickr meet at Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

the grasses are circling the sun, very good, I like it a lot
I would have cropped out that house thing though, didnt notice it till I went large !!!
you could crop it 2 ways, just before the house or just with the sun and the grass, rectangular, that would be really good... only my opinion of course
I think it's part of the university over the river, but yeah, now you mention it, that does detract a bit from the horizon.
Really nice David!
Thanks Daniel (or is it Anita?). I think this one and the previous one (with the leaves) are my best two shots of the meet.
David, this is lovely. I like the low hanging clouds. The grasses are great... I like getting down low for arty shots like this too. Beautiful colours. Alison
Thanks Alison, Hmmm, I looked at cropping, haven't got around to it yet, thought maybe a bit further to the left. Might play with it later and see how it comes out...
Yeh I think your crop idea will work well, David.
Lovely pic as is, but I Do love the vertical crop suggesteD above.
Ask and you shall receive ;)
Three crops:
Helen's Vertical Crop
Alison's Square Crop
My Crop
All three cropped versions are awesome!! ;-)
great capture!
(thank you very much for your concern regarding my back pain, appreciate it:)
You're most welcome Maria, back pain is awful!
I like Helen's crop best!
I've entered Helen's Crop in the Australian Photographers Qld comp. for this fortnight. I wonder how it'll go...
