Striated Heron having a scratch

After a while, the Striated Heron grew comfortable enough with my presence to have a scratch. Despite the noisy shot, I like the ruffled feather look he got here.

Common Names: Striated Heron, Mangrove Heron, Striated Bittern, Mangrove Bittern

Scientific Name: Butorides striatus

Length: 50cm

Habitat: Coastal fringes of Northern and Eastern Australia in Mangroves, sandbanks and tidal mudflats.

Looks like it doesn't it Maria, after all, they're very sleek usually. Shame it's so noisy, but then iso400 on the tiny little sensor this camera has is like that, I very rarely shoot at iso400 for just that reason.

It looks fine, as long as you don't look at it large ;-) Silly noisy iso400, but I couldn't not post it - the feathers amused me.
