Dark ominous clouds greeted me as I got off the train this arvo. I got home just before it broke, a short, but heavy downpour. Flash in the pan really, but every bit helps.

'twas impressive to behold, there were better ones too, but I was driving by then. Of course, cloud darkness varies considerably with where you are in relation to the sun as well.

We might have got 2mm if that. It was a really shot downpour, and we've had a couple of sprinkles throughout the evening. The rain guage reads empty, but it's not in the most ideal position.

WOW! Quite a dramatic looking photo.
Think I would have cloned out the lamp post, just my opinion tho.
Great cloud!
(No offence David)

Yeah I was in two minds about that Cecily. I usually don't do much (if any) editing of my photos.

I wouldn't mind too much Kev if I knew that they'd previously dropped their load into the dam on the other side of the range, but I suspect that wasn't the case.

Wow, very dramatic. Wishing you more rain to to come.

Thanks Margot :) Here's hoping. Although a clear sky tomorrow afternoon around sunset would be good - that way I might get a chance of photographing the comet.

Thanks again :)
The streetlight however isn't broken, it just has shielding on it to make most of the light go straight down into the carpark and not spread into people's house windows.
