Not very impressive as the light pollution is pretty bad.

4min exposure.

hope your family had a wonderful Christmas! And have a blessed New Year!!

The other one is much better, but we have much less light pollution at home.

And yes, Christmas was great - Hope yours was also fantastic :)

It is interesting that you can't see any stars in the black section of the photo.... but you CAN see them in the lighter part of the sky.... go figure. Nice photo, but you are right, your stars are much better than ours down here in Sydney!

I love these star shots you have. This pic has a very interesting composition. I'm glad you chose to keep the tops of the homes in the foreground.

I must say Margot, the sky colour is slightly modified using the Twilight PictureStyle on the 400D. It was a deeper blue but I think the purple is more effective.

I could barely see the stars myself Alison - quite a shame as the sky was perfectly clear.

Thanks Mark, I would have used a nice tree or something but there weren't any, so the rooftops had to do.

The gradation in the sky is gorgeous. I like that we see the tops of the houses too. Light pollution or no it's a beautiful shot.

Got home tonight Greg and was greeted by many many more stars :)

    Thanks Horst.

Yeah it's not too shabby Melissa :)
