I dropped into Ted's yesterday to check up on battery and CF card prices (got both - 13% sale, yay for Friday the 13th), and checked out the Sigma 10-20mm lens while there.
These are not fantastic shots being inside a camera store after all, but they do show how wide the lens is.

Congratulations David.
A new lens is like a new baby in my opinion.
A tad premature Louise. I didn't buy the lens....yet. I'm still thinking it over. It'd be nice to try a couple of other ultra-wides for comparison, and do some outdoor tests before committing to a purchase.
Options as I see it are:
* Sigma 10-20
* Canon 10-22
* Tokina 12-24
* Sigma 12-24
* Tamron 11-17
Price wise, the Sigma comes out best, but I'd like to compare image quality before just going for the cheapest one.
sigmas vary somewhat in quality, rather depends on how good a copy you get, I've read up on several wide-ies and didnt come to a decision, helpful that !!
The canon is somewhat pricey for what it is. Ive read that the quality isnt that much better than the $400 cheaper sigma.
Oh and im so over the whole pixel peeping thing. I showed my dad some of the photos i took while i was away last week and he spent an hour or so pixel peeping on every shot. So annoying.
Yeah when I finally get around to buying one, I'll be doing extensive testing (taking a laptop along might be a good deal) on several specimens.
hehehe I peep at my own shots, and do tend to do the same to Kara's too.
But yes I've also heard the Canon 10-22 isn't that much (if any) better than the Sigma, except the quality control in the Canon assembly is better / more consistent.
