Sharna

I felt this worked really well in B&W, reducing the graffiti to just interesting background patterns.

Oh cool I was wondering how you went with this one she had a very different (and serious) look. Worked a treat in B&W love the small movement in the hair.

This has come out really well.
The light on the black hair, the diminishing of the garish b/g, and the look!

the bow in the hair with the gothic look is a surreal mix !
I would say its better without the graffiti colours too

Thanks Kath, the colour version was a lot busier, with the background dominating more than it should.
Yeah, serious for sure, but having braces tends to do that to young girls.
Thanks Andrew, quite happy with this one. Used two lights, one for the hair from behind-right, one in an silver umbrella from the front-left.
Yeah, interesting clothing choice, but it worked well for that little bit of surrealism.

cool shot - blurring the graffiti gives it a real edge. never would have thought of taking pics there in a MILLION years! genius!

    Thanks :)
To tell you the truth, neither would have I - didn't know it existed let alone thought about shooting there. That's one of the great things about these meetups, you find new locations that stretch your abilities.

he he, I used to go there sometimes after school. Was up there some time last year (or was it the year before - time flies) and it was pretty much just as I remembered it.
The meet ups sound good :D

    Little rebel eh ? ;-)
Worth rocking along to a meetup really, you learn stuff, have fun and sometimes even get decent photos out of them too.
