Results of rain

We had 39mm of rain yesterday/last night according to our rain gauge, so the creek is flowing nicely again. This is a quick shot from down near the swimming hole not from from the park. I didn't wander down close for a better shot as the ground was rather treacherous.

    The color of the the white-water is not white. I think that is a job for Brother Green (Bryan Peterson - Understanding Exposure).

    I think you'll find that's because the water was nowhere near clear or white when I shot it. It's the morning right after heavy rain, the water is very dirty and brown, so a long exposure will turn up the same. Sure, I could have made it white by overexposing, but you'd lose detail.

    Ah well,it just so happens that it appears like an artifact of using weighted metering - but if the water is dirty, then it is dirty :o)

    Indeed - if we don't get another downpour today or tomorrow, it'll be running a lot lower by the weekend.
    Yep, I pretty much ignored the meter anyway as with an ND400 and a Polariser on it, the meter tends to get a bit thrown out.

    Too right Garry, hopefully we'll get some nice cloud cover to smooth out any hot-spots in the light too.
    As for leaches, I haven't noticed any - Kara is usually the leach magnet, so if I'm worried, I'll just take her along ;-)
