While returning from NextByte on Adelaide St (ordering a 17" iMac for my parents), I was accosted by this stack of red crates who seem to be hanging out with the black crate clan, although the mysterious brown bread crate might be signs of a more sinister development....

i spied a lone red crate the other day as i walked through anzac square on my way to next-byte...
the plot thickens...
Here the crates have possibly made a mistake in revealing their highly advanced acrobatic abilities and the fact that some of them may have developed chamelion-like powers, being able to change their colour at will.
looks sinister to me too .....
Hmmmm, I had just been to Next-Byte.... the plot thickens indeed!
David, the thing was, most people passing by were completely oblivious to them, maybe it's a form of camouflage by obviousness ?
Definitely Helen!
The red crate invasion has begun! Muhahaha!
Red crates...mmm...OK guys.
hehehe I see you're yet to be bitten by the red crate bug ;)
Not surprisingly, there's a group all about them - A day in the life of a red crate
I found one too! I was so excited when I saw it (the red crate bug has struck again).
Mwhahahaha :-)
These red crates won't get away with much now, not with an army of flickr photographers on their case!
there is a very healthy colony of red crates living in the level 3 containment area at the australian animal health laboratory in geelong. i was unable to photograph them as anything that goes in there has to remain there. it is a bit of a worry that they are being exposed to exotic animal diseases... possibility of mutations... recombinant DNA.... HPAI H5N1 crossing the species barrier...
be afraid...
be very afraid...
Well let's hope they stay well contained then!
just came across these not 200 metres from where i live -
Hmmm, but are these escapees from the AAHL ?
that could explain their flattened shape... they are mutants!
