Raindrops on Windows...

I'm sure that was meant to be Roses, and something about kittens...

Anyway, these raindrops were on the window of my office after today's storm.

    very nice raindrops too, David.
And look inside those big drops ! Wonderful !

I had to crop this one a little as the silver front end of the S2 was reflecting on the window - damn annoying that, you'd have thought they'd have made it with a non-reflective colour/coating on the outer lens ring.

Still, I was quite happy with the outcome (after cropping) :)

Thanks Gazza, I also took a series of 30 shots (1 per minute) as the storm came across. Quite impressive to behold, if a bit dark towards the last few frames.

I've plonked them together into a quicktime movie here.

Yes, it did indeed - pretty impressive really, but once the front passed it brightened up again.

One of the rare days it actually rains in Brisbane - great capture!

Here's to many more wet days Suzzie :)

According to the BoM, Wivenhoe Dam got > 28mm of rain out of that storm, and more came through later in the evening.

"Raindrops on Roses and whiskers on kittens... these are a few of my favourite things..."

It DID get very dark... What a cool idea to capture it like that.... so did you get any work done that day?

Very cool up-side-down image of the city skyline in the drop!!

    Good Capture, well done!

Alison, yep, the camera has a setting to do timed captures, so I could work while it did ;)

Of course it was more interesting to watch the storm instead ;)

    Thanks Cecily :)

Dave has the coolest office - huge panes of glass and a great view from up high of the Brisbane River.
Any excuse I can find to visit is a good one :)

Hey, I didn't realise from the small view in the feed reader, but this one is bokeh too!

A brilliant image, I have learned how those little rain drops are acting as lenses.
  • David de Groot said:
It's neat how they do that isn't it Brian. In theory one could make a little tiny lens using a few thin sheets of glass and some water droplets in a tube - might be a cool project for a pin-hole camera.

Cool, clear raindrops! And nice bokeh, too!

    Thanks Margot :)

I took it on a whim.

    Thanks Maria :)

I love storms and would happily go chase them to take photos if it wasn't for that having to work thing...
