Damn, that is one powerful torch. I like the way even the rear of the wreck has been lit.

Nicely lit up. I like how you painted the water in front of the boat as well.

I like the way you keep getting up early to take piccies, putting me to shame nowadays, I knew you would like it- once you get to see the results !! Careful, it can be addictive, still 5'0clock is pretty early, so did you not bother going to bed , what with the drive and everything? You could try camping out in your chosen spot. I really want an autohome for this sort of reason, I think I shall not be gettting though !!
David de Groot said: Thanks - I've shot this wreck before, but nowhere near as successfully. Hi Helen! :)
This time I actually went to bed, but only got 3 hours sleep as I didn't get there until midnight, then it was up at 3am to have a shower and a coffee before heading out. Johnno and Kara came along for the run and got some photos too.
I have a couple of destinations I want to do that will require camping, one being Girraween (about a 3.5 hr drive from here, and a good hour walk from the carpark once there). That'll take a bit more planning though.
As for being addictive, well, all I can say is I always get at least one worthwhile shot, but that I still don't enjoy being up that early.

Impressive David. What an awesome candle light. She looks so much better with your light. The lights in the back are also great and reinforcing the horizon. I wonder if it's possible to get the moon in that perspective.
For me it was a first there. Been thinking about it a number of times about it but couldn't be bothered ;-)
Thanks, I enjoyed it very much.

David de Groot said: Pretty useful torch, even if it does only have a 1/2 hr's worth of full power battery. You can get them from BCF or most camping stores for < $50.
Very glad you enjoyed this morning, it's not a bad spot for being on the bay, and a lot closer than going down the coast - paying for it now though, pretty shagged.

Right... that does it... I'm going to buy myself a 2-mil-cp torch today... I've fooled around a little with light painting... but I've always been very disappointed with the results... now I can see why... my torch was not nearly powerful enough!!
David de Groot said: Definitely worth it Paul, otherwise you need to do really really long exposures and muck around a lot more.
