One of the dying breed of parking meters still left in Brisbane. These are being replaced slowly by the printed ticket variety. This one is in the dead-end side-street next to the pavilion.
Taken during the Brisbanites Flickr Anniversary / Pre-Christmas Drinks gathering at The Pavilion, West End, Brisbane.

I wonder If you could buy one second hand,? or even a few, make a nice litte earner here on the coast, ::--)
Hmmmm, there's a thought. 'twould make an interesting garden ornament too.
Gads a meter that does not take credit cards, a blast from the past! I remember when they removed the 5 cent meters from Melbourne they sent them to Hobart. I suppose that is progress.
I was quite surprised to see them there Brian, and more surprised to see them still in use. I wonder how one would go about getting one when they're retired....
Its good to see there are a few left, i got depressed whe they left the GC, they were an icon.
It's the sort of thing you have a love/hate relationship with. On the one hand there's those nifty times you get a park with the meter still running, but then there's the far more frequent time of getting a parking ticket 'cause you didn't make it back in time to feed the meter.
