On the way to work this morning, this Rosella flew across the road and
landed on this fence. I stopped and attempted to photograph him from the
ute. This was the best I could get, and he flew off not long afterwards.

Nicely captured David! Old bathtubs have a similar use here in NZ :-)

Seen in my contacts's photos. (?)
I wonder if they're used like that in England or the US.
On my grandfathers farm near Orange, NSW, he used old bath tubs and old drums cut length ways with the edges blunted. Don't you just hate it that birds keep their backs to you. Or they do for me. Nice country shot

Oh yeah the old 44 gallon drums. He did turn his head my way, but in that shot the camera decided it'd much prefer to auto-focus on the shed, rather than the bird!
oh yes, quite common to see them used in the same way here in the UK too, though they are too small for the horses to get in ......
But surely those little ponies from Shetland wouldn't have any problem at all? ;^)
BTW, did you notice your parrot has had a colour change and is moonlighting with pirates ?
our old bathtub is lying in our front yard beside my flowerbed. It made a beautiful background for one of my dahlia shots..hehe
This is still a great capture, btw:)
What a great find, David! This is a beautiful shot with a nice bokeh. I like the way you shot this. Of course, it can't be just a picture of a bird. With a bokeh bathtub...it makes it more interesting. (o^.^o)
I do wonder if the inventor of the modern bathtub had any idea how many of them would be turned into stock water troughs, garden ornaments/planters, and the various other non-bathtub uses they've come to be used for.
Thanks Maria :)
David I did find your photo of peps and the pirate, I just havent got round to replying ! I thought it was funny and plenty good enough to upload !!
Ah, I see I was just being impatient ;)
But it's definitely not of posting quality, my photoshop foo isn't that good.
