Pacific Black Duck, stretching

It wasn't until after I took this shot that I realised the camera was

set to ISO400 :(

Therefore, it's somewhat noisy, but I still like the shot.

Seconds prior to this, the duck was scooping water up onto it's back,

and I was trying to get a shot of that when it stretched it's wings up

like this, so this is a bit of a lucky shot :)

Wow, great action shot! You can really see the details in the feathers. The duck almost looks like its standing in really shallow water.

Thanks Mark. Shame it's so noisy though.

The same thing happened to me last Saturday when I was taking a picture of a maple tree. :o( Anyhow, I barely noticed the graininess because you captured a great action shot here.

Nice Capture Dave and the focus is spot on the detail it terrific,
I don't think that you notice the noise that much mate.
    Well done.

    Thanks Jill, Margot and Kev.

Margot, don't you just hate that?

Kev, I'd say look at it large, as the water drops are neat, but the noise is atrocious large.

    Thanks Gayle :)

Well you know what they say Helen, better to have noise and get the shot, then not have noise and miss it.

Hi David... 9 out of 10 aint bad :-)
I am amazed at how you have managed to get the entire duck perfectly in focus while in motion on water with perfect lighting, no hotspots or blurs and only a little noise to show for your efforts...
I am suddenly ashamed of my lack of skill!

    Thanks Alex :)

A nice fast shutter speed and the fact I was tracking him helped a fair bit.
