Our Backyard Creek

...has water in it!

The last time there was water in it was Jan 2006.

Crappy photo I know, but I was dressed inappropriately and it was starting to rain.

    Heavily overcast today (which helped, lighting wise), mostly drizzling with scattered showers. I was lucky to get up there (and back) before it started to get heavier.
    The shot itself is way to busy, but then the creek bed is full of palm fronds and twigs, etc.

    You're right about the flooding, it's the Australian way ;-)

    Its not really backyard flooding - we are on acreage and its a seasonal creek that runs through our property. We thought it might be wet enough for it to run soon - we've had 190 mm this month - and lo! Here it is :)
    Been so long since we saw water in it! I remember paddling in it when it was hot.
    (I think it might have been Jan 2005 - I don't think it has run since we finished the house, Nov 2005)

    More likely to get ticks. I've not seen many leeches around our place (saw a huge slug last week though, white one with a red triangle on it's back - a Triboniophorus graeffei, to be precise).
    I should have gone up to the creek for piccies earlier in the week, but the path is somewhat overgrown at the moment.
