This little guy looks familiar. In fact, I photographed the same meerkat with the stuff on the tip of his nose. :-)

This is fabulous. It really is perfect in many ways. Loaded with clear and sharp detail.

Ohh wow nice work David, Great DOF the Meerkat really stands out with that lovely DOF speaking of DOF 300mm 2.8 ? Where did you get your hand on one of those ?
David de Groot said: @Xenedis - Indeed! I shudder to think why the dirt on his snout is muddy :P
'twas a good day though, even if I was somewhat sore this morning. I notice too the sky was clear when I got up...grrr... @Aussie.501 - Thanks :) They're very cute little critters :)

The best skies tend to happen when you're not there to see them.
I was very tired too; doing a dawn shoot would have been a bad idea. We have Tuesday. :-)

Thanks Bobby-Jo. I could have sat and watched these guys for ages :)
Jason, it's Johnno's lens and TC. I also got some great shots with my 70-200, but you have to love the amazing sharpness of the 300/2.8 even with the much maligned 2x TC.
Yeah I didn't get up until after 8 this morning, so no dawn for me.

I looked at this lens after seeing other peoples photos taken with it, apart from the cost, I didnt think I would like the weight, but its a wonderful lens. I'm stuck with my strange 70-300 DO, at least for the time being !!
excellent piccy sir !! I still like going to the zoo !

Aye, it's a great lens Helen, but it is somewhat weighty.
Still not convinced with the zoo, it's all too easy, no trekking through the bush carefully stalking your subject...
Sounds like a grand plan Elisha :)
:P~~ flibble! Geoff, flibble!
