Another shot of the Nesting mother? Curlew. I presume this is the
female but I haven't got a bird ID book at hand right now. Which brings
up the next point, which of the pair nests ? or is it a shared
responsibility ?

Thanks for that Binjy - a useful bit of information.
I didn't realise they were mostly nocturnal, but it'd explain why I only see them standing after dusk.
Nice capture. What camouflage!!!
helloooo, its very quiet on the " de groot "front so I thought I'd just stop and say hi!
Hi Helen,
Yes, I know, I didn't find anything interesting to photograph yesterday, but today I'm heading down the coast with the Studebaker Car Club, so should get a few decent piccies :)
By the way, I'm trying to determine my best photo to enter into a competition but am having a hard time choosing - care to make a recommendation ?
whats the competition- just any photo or does it have a theme, hope you have a good day
Seems to be open subject. The prize is a new Canon 400D, which I'm sure I could make very good use of.
So far, the general opinion is that this shot should be entered.
But I was leaning towards this shot.
well I did suggest both of these or these are the ones I meant , but I would hate to say which, I would love the 400D, its seems great, I knew it was coming out though when I bought the 350, and I got that at a very good price
There are definitely some good deals out on the 350D right now. None, unfortunately are in my immediate affordability, and none come with a decent prime lens (say a canon 50mm f/1.4). By the time I can afford one the 500D or somesuch will be out...
