Waves crashing over the rock shelf at North Narrabeen, NSW.

One from over Christmas as I've not shot much lately.

    This came out nicely.
I wasn't inspired to publish anything from that shoot, but at least you got something from it despite the conditions that day.

Not a bit, which was good as it meant the spray didn't get all over us and our gear :)
Yeah, not a lot in that shoot of great value, but a couple that scrubbed up ok. This one has had some tweaking in LR to compensate for the very dreary weather.

Looks lovely David - whatever you did is alright!

Nice shot David, even if the weather was poor I think this turned out great, well done.

cool shot mate... the clouds/light look a bit yuk but you've managed to pull out an interesting photo for me! thanks!
the textures in seaweed on the rock and following water are cool! nice one!

A bit of colour temp. adjustment, gradient filter on the sky, whack with the vibrancy stick ;-)
Thanks :) Yeah, it didn't rain on us, but it was very close to doing so. Believe it or not, this was dawn (as far as we could tell).
Thanks Bennie :) Yeah unlike the neat weather that you managed in Sydney, our attempts at dawn were somewhat feeble on the weather front. Still, it was an interesting excursion and I got a few shots that were ok :)

Nice one Dave. It's hard to tell it was a dull day. The colours and detail are great.

I love the beautiful blue of the water :D

Thanks Warwick. A bit of white-balance adjustment, etc and it comes up ok. :)
I was quite happy with how the blue came out too :)

Hey, what happened to that series of pics you had? :)
  • David de Groot said:
I turned it into a video, but alas flickr screwed up the playback speed - it's still up there in the same set as this one, and if you play it several times, it sometimes slows down enough to see it properly.

I'll have to check it out again :D

I love that there's a definite overcast sky, but the water still has the green tinge to it.
    Great shot!

Some tweaking of this shot for sure (only in LightRoom). :)
