Mt Mee

NOTE: Apparently Flickr is having issues generating smaller sizes for this, the Original size works, but is huge - I'll give it a while and see if it comes good.

Stitched from 74 photographs in portrait mode.

I shot this on the way home from the Buderim Ginger Factory. We took back roads home as the Bruce Hwy is a really bad deal on a Sunday afternoon.

See where this picture was taken. [?]

OK if you shot it at midnight on a moonless night with the lenscap on.

I was wondering if you were protesting something ; )

You need to look at the Original Size. Apparently, although flickr will let you upload up to a 20Mb jpg, they can't actually handle one that size. grrr...

Nice pano had to download the full size image

hehhe I'll have a reduced size version up soon.
Yeah - who knew you could overload flickr's resizing routines ?
  • David de Groot said:
Here's a reduced size version, although the detail in the full size one is pretty impressive.

Perhaps it will come right with a bit of luck it can detect errors and re try, Where was this at a park or did you just find somewhere to pull over don't know quite where that is I normally travel from the dayboro direction

It was indeed at the park/lookout thing. It's a nice spot, even if the weather was fairly bleh.

read war and peace whilst it downloaded
  • David de Groot said:
Well I did say it was 74 photos stiched - I think the dimensions are roughly 23000x5700, so it's no surprise it takes a while ;-)

Wasnt too bad- downloading, I counted the cattle whilst I got that bit !! Its pretty early in the morning at the moment and America is not online !! I'm not feeling well, cant sleep so am occupying myself with flickr !
I am amazed at you stitching together 74 photos !!
  • David de Groot said:
Well it wasn't me personally - the computer did the stitching, but it did take a little while to crunch through. :)

On the way home....you said. I think there is quite a bit of effort and thinking involved in this and so it the result....Holy cow, it's amazing. Great work Dave. I wonder how your computer will behave with the 5D MKII files sizes. Or should I say how you behave waiting and waiting and waiting
Tell us, did you shoot handheld?

Shot on tripod this time. Slight adjustment to rotation about half way through as the tripod wasn't exactly level. Top two rows exposed for sky, bottom row exposed for ground. Stitched the whole thing in AutoPano Pro using exported jpgs rather than tiffs (tiff takes an order of magnitude longer). Still took over an hour to stitch it all, then just a wee touch up of the clouds to make them a bit more interesting (dodge & burn). Voila.
Yeah, might need to get more RAM if I upgrade my body ;-)

I'd like to upgrade my body too, only I dont really fancy plastic surgery...
