Are you enjoying experimenting with manual mode?

Yep, it will hopefully improve my judgement so I can play with film more confidently :)

You're going to play with film? hee hee! btw, you can get some fabulous super wide glass at wonderful prices for film bodies these days. For lunch change really. Think of the bridge shots you could try : )

hehehe, well I have an FD mount Canon body and a couple of lenses, although really I'd prefer to get an EOS Canon film body, as then the lenses would be interchangable with the digital slr too. I'm shooting a roll of cheap fuji colour film at the moment with a 300/f4 lens just to see how it performs (the lens really, not the film) before doing some more b&w stuff. Eventually I'd like to home develop 35mm b&w as I have a negative scanner now, so no need to spend $$ on printing.

Until you're ready to develop b+w at home, you can use C-41 process
b+w. Kodak & Ilford have it. Don't get them printed (even for colour film). Just request 'develop only' and you'll receive negs that you can scan yourself. It's better that way anyways since most shops don't adjust for the colour cast and you get greenish looking b+w prints.

Nice sunny shot David, love all the boats and the river looks very inviting, especially with the Melbourne weather we've been having lately!! :-(

A typical fine wintery day in Brisbane, Tracey. Possibly too fine for the liking of most people at the moment, what with the water restrictions and lack of water in the dams.
