The MacArthur Building, on Queen and Edward Streets, Brisbane.
Shot with the kit lens as I needed the wide-angle end. I was also trying out the new Clear PictureStyle - see www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/picturestyle/file/index.html
This building is named after General Douglas MacArthur, who I believe HQ'd here during part of WWII.

Well you achieved your clear picture Dave.
Well done and thanks for the history lesson, interesting.
Thanks Kev - there's plenty of history all around Brisbane, just waiting to be rediscovered. :) In fact I shot only old buildings today. Some turned out, some didn't. Most have a story, but I don't know them.
You're right with the General MacArthur HQ thing, David - there is apparently a museum up on the eighth floor, open three days a week all about Brisbane during WW2.
Thanks Paul. I'd noticed a sign on the entrance on certain days (I think Thur is one of them), so I might need to pop up there for a peek at some stage.
