Looking out

A Joey pokes out from his mother's pouch to see what's happening. This

one must be getting pretty close to leaving the pouch for good as he's

quite large.

We spotted these kangaroos in the picnic area of Girraween National Park

(south of Stanthorpe) and they allowed us to get quite close. These are

wild Eastern Grey Kangaroos but are obviously used to tourists.

    Thanks Maria :)

Kangaroos are a pretty common site here as soon as you start to head off the beaten track (or inconveniently on major interstate highways when you least expect it), but to see a joey in the pouch is something else :)
