A Lorikeet lands at the feeder.
Friends of mine in Manly West have a neighbour with a bird feeder and everyday the lorikeets swarm in at about 4pm to feed. This gives any handy photographer nearby an excellent chance to get close and snap some bird action.

These guys are beautiful - great capture!
Yes, great capturev- the colours in the wings are marvellous. I'd be happy to have them in my backyard (when I lived in Aranda I used to get plenty of them), but the Chaser amusingly referred to them as having the noise of a hundred jet engines!
Thanks,
Yes they are indeed incredibly noisy. It's a toss-up as to whether they are more or less noisy than the flock of 40 odd Sulfur-Crested Cockatoos that live down the road from my place. ;^)
Beautiful birds, fantastic color.
Colours in this shot are outstanding !! Beautiful !!

Thanks everyone - I realised these guys are probably the most colourful photo I have on flickr so it was the obvious choice :)
