Kara in the Tunnel

I ventured into a narrow tunnel that leads to a gun slit on the side of the fort. The late afternoon sun was coming through the slit and I just had to make use of it.

I positioned Kara to just get some nice sun backlighting and then added a snooted gridded 580exII on a stand camera left and about half the distance from me to her. Power setting might have been around 1/64th from memory.

Of course Allan spotted what I was up to and took the same shot with Jeff's 85/1.2L, which gave a brighter shot, but with a dreamier softness surrounding.

    Michelle, it's a little tube (well rectangular tube) of cardboard filled with black straws. The light beam is tightly focussed where you aim it. It's hard light, but can work well for adding just that bit of light where you need it.
