We blew a radiator hose in the truck today about 7 kms from home.
Kara, Aleks and I were going down to the hardware to buy some materials for mouse-trap cars when I suddenly noticed the temperature guage was on hot. I pulled over and shut down, made some phone calls, including one to home to ask for water and a towel, and then we waited for help to arrive.
Of course, while waiting I grabbed the camera and shot Kara several times.

Of course :-)
Nice portrait, by the way. I can see she is relaxed, probably used to you taking her photo. What is she thinking though ? :-)
It's a good thing you went out prepared. ;-)
Lovely portrait of Kara. I just wish there was more light on her beautiful eyes.
She poses a pretty subject for you David, Kara must be proud of her old man.
Lovely portrait, David.
Thanks everyone :)
David, she does get annoyed sometimes - too many photos possibly.
Margot, just went with the available light, I guess I could have zoomed less, got closer and used a larger aperture, but I'm not sure if it would have made too much difference.
Kev, who knows what a nearly 12 yo girl thinks ???
Thanks Louise, she's good practice anyway, I haven't really gone in for portraits until recently.
Beautiful shot of her David, she looks relaxed in front of the camera that's for sure.

Seen in my contacts's photos. (?)
One day this girl is going to get her own back !!
Hello Kara !
Thanks Jill, yes I think she's getting used to having a camera pointed at her. (should prove useful if she needs to model her way through Uni).
Helen, probably a lot sooner than she expects.... (and she's got one photo posted under her own account now too!)
lovely portrait!!
Good thing you had your camera with you, this is a great way to kill time:-))
I rarely don't have a camera with me Maria ;-)
It generally goes with me just about everywhere.
Excellent shot! Isn't it funny how situations turn into opportunities such as this.
Thanks Harry. It is indeed :)
